Long Elementary School is located at 9021 Sappington Road in the St. Louis suburb of Crestwood, MO. Located at the school is an analemmatic sundial that is about 18.5 feet in diameter. It is built of colored concrete. It is located on the grounds of a private elementary school in an area designated as a Sundial Garden. The dial is surrounded by elevated flower planter boxes. The E-W markers are 10 feet apart and the date line is marked. The dial face shows the cardinal directions and phases of the moon. This is not a public sundial; viewing can be arranged by contacting Long Elementary School at 314-729-2400.*

American Sundial Society.
Shown below is a plaque that is adjacent to the Long Elementary School sundial. Nancy L. Furgerson was a long time Principal at the school. The sundial was built and dedicated to her after the 2002-3 school year when she retired.
